BOARD OF DIRECTORS
Kevin Snook, Chairman
Mr. Snook has been a Director and Chairman of ValGold since 2013 and Chief Executive Officer since July 2014.
Mr. Snook has had a diverse engineering, business and entrepreneurial career over the past 40 years from designing computer-based systems for Canada's leading telecommunications research organization and working internationally for Schlumberger Ltd. in the oil and gas industry to investment banking on Wall Street and leading the national mergers and acquisitions (M&A) group for a Big Four accounting firm. In addition, he co-founded and led what has become a successful $350 million publicly-traded rubber products company and has run three other public companies.
In the mineral exploration sector, he has run Moneta Porcupines Mines Inc. as President and CEO, completing a key property acquisition and starting development of a 43-101 resource of several million ounces and served as Chairman of Geoinformatics Exploration Inc., a technology-based mineral project developer. He is also currently Chairman of Niagara Group Inc., a privately held waste management and recycling group of companies.
Mr. Snook holds a B.Eng. in Electrical Engineering and an M.Eng. in Systems Engineering from Carleton University and an MBA in Finance with minors in International Business and Accounting from Columbia University in New York.
Ralph Goldsilver, CPA, CA, Director:
Mr. Goldsilver has been a Director of ValGold and Chairman of the Audit Committee since 2015.
He was a former Partner in the Toronto office of MNP, LLC. specializing in assisting mid-size entrepreneurial companies and institutional investors with corporate finance, merger and acquisition and due diligence transactions. Mr. Goldsilver currently has his own Advisory practice in the areas of merger and acquisitions and debt and equity financing. He served as a Director of the Canadian Venture Capital and Private Equity Association (CVCA) Annual Conference for 10 years and served as a Director and Treasurer for the Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation-Ontario for eight years.
He is a Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA, CA) and holds a Master of Business Administration (MBA) from the Schulich School of Business at York University.
Jacinto (Jay) Vieira, Director
Mr. Vieira has been a Director and member of the Audit and Compensation Committees of ValGold since 2015. He is a lawyer and the Vice President, Corporate and Legal Affairs and Director of Shared Services at Distinct Infrastructure Group Inc. in Toronto, Ontario.
He was formerly a lawyer and a partner at the law firms of Blaney McMurtry, LLP and Fogler, Rubinoff LLP, in Toronto, Ontario, and specialized in corporate finance and securities law. Mr. Vieira has experience with both domestic and international corporations and investment dealers in a broad range of transactions, including public offerings, private placements, and mergers and acquisitions.
He is a Director of Augusta Industries Inc., a TSXV-listed company.
He holds a B.A. in History and Political Science from McMaster University and an LLB from the University of Windsor.
Rhoderic (Rod) Whyte, Director
Mr. Whyte has spent the past 40 years in the natural resource sectors, particularly in the finance of mining and oil/gas exploration. He is currently the Executive Chairman of EastWest Timber AS, an integrated timber company which harvests timber and processes charcoal and timber in Russia and manufactures timber products in Estonia. Mr. Whyte has been a co-founder or Chairman of various other media and resource companies including Moneta Porcupine Mines Inc., Magnesium International and Aspermont Limited. He has advised resource companies active on all continents. His experience includes company formation, negotiations with governments and corporate development via equity finance or joint venture agreements.
Mr. Whyte holds a B.A. from the Australian National University and a B.A. Econ. from Monash University.
